I enlisted in the Royal New Zealand Air Force in 1980 as a Service Police NCO. During my 12 years in the RNZAF Police, I served in the Multinational Force and Observers in the Sinai Desert, served a 2 year deployment to Singapore. I was a senior member of the Special Operations Group involving dog training, VIP Escort Duties advanced weapons and driving, close quarter combat and tactical security. In August 1990, Iraqi Forces invaded Kuwait, I was attached to the New Zealand contingent to deploy with the multinational force tasked with liberating Kuwait, firstly under Desert Shield and then Desert Storm. I discharged in September 1992

Mark was accepted into the RNZAF as an Armed Forces Photographer in 1969 and resigned in 1977. During that time he was attached to the Army and Navy covering all forms of film and photographic tasks.
He then joined the RNZ Army Electrical Mechanical Engineers (RNZEME) as an electronics technician. Mark resigned from the Territorials (Reserves) upon his migration to Australia in 1989.

Principal Chaplain the Reverend A. William (Bill) Rosier
Bill felt called to the Christian Ministry, and commenced training at Queens College, Melbourne University in 1956. After four years at Queens he was sent to the Canberra Methodist Circuit where he was ordained. For two years during that time he was the Methodist Chaplain, part-time, at the Royal Military College, Duntroon.
A vacancy came up for a full-time chaplain in the Royal Australian Navy, to commence on 1st January 1966. Bill applied, got the job, and spent the next twenty-two years in the Navy, both ashore and at sea. Bill spent three years at sea, during which time his wife, Marilyn, and young family lived in Sydney, where they eventually settled. In 1968 Bill was Small Ships Chaplain, and spent some time with HMAS HOBART on the Gun Line off the coast of Vietnam. HOBART had lost three sailors during an attack on Tiger Island, close to the Demilitarised Zone. (The DMZ separated North and South Vietnam.) Bill was also able to visit Naval personnel ashore in Vietnam, notably Navy divers inVung Tau, and a Navy helicopter squadron based at Blackhorse. Bill eventually became Principal Chaplain for Protestant Denominations, and his time became taken up with the administration of the Chaplains Branch in Sydney and Navy Office, Canberra. Bill retired from the Navy in November 1987.

Ray enlisted in the Royal Australian Navy in 1952 on a 5 year National Service conscript. His civilian trade of electrician carried over into his Military Service.
During his Service, Ray spent time on HMAS’s Kuttabul, Penguin, Cerberus and Albatross.
On discharge in 1957, Ray held the rank Electrical Mate II

Bill enlisted in the Royal Australian Navy on 6th July 1964, aged 15 years 9months. Bill completed his schooling in the Navy and became a Marine Engineer or Stoker.
First posting was to HMAS Leeuwin, a shore base near Freemantle used for training junior recruits, followed by stints on Her Majesties Australian Ships Anzac, Cerberus, Sydney, Vampire, Kuttabul, Albatross, Nirimba, Melbourne, Marine Head Quarters, Platypus, Harman, Creswell and Waterhen. Bill’s final active posting was HMAS Penguin where he was the Divisional Officer for transient sailors. In total Bill spent 49 years and 3 months serving his country in the Royal Australian Navy and Navy Reserves.
